Yeah its ideal weather but all this hot then cold then hot again has made some of the leaves all crunchy. But it's not too bad. I'm finally back at the oil rigs and as soon as I hit pay dirt I will buy me a pH meter and start paying it forward.

I used to have a fish aquarium tester that you would put drops in and I don't know where I left it. It was old school but it worked.

Ph meters generally do not last very long even if you are careful to keep the probe in solution. If you let it dry out it is usually toast. I would go with the test strips, look at them under the same light each time because floro, daylight, incandescent, hid, etc all have different colors and will skew the results so always use daylight or always the same light.
You can test them by using highly acidic solution like vinegar to see how it shows up, then something you know is basic like your tap water and see how that looks. After a while you will see what it looks like when your plants are happy. Most plants want around 6, novos need a bit lower, 5 should work or 5.5. The best ph down is phosphoric acid but vinegar works in a pinch. Rainwater is usually a little acid, put a bucket where rain runs off and save it.

I just dont trust litmus it doesnt seem to change colour like a liquid test does. I put 3 or 4 drops of phos acid in and the paper doesnt change but the liquid test will. The litmus works fine for more concentrated stuff in my workshop, it just doesnt seem to react to 5litre solutions?

Is it fresh litmus paper? I had good results with it but you don't get a number readout like you do with a meter. If you put phos acid on it and it doesn't change, its no good anymore. The numbers on a meter are an approximation anyway. Quicker and easier but more expensive, take your choice. Rainwater you know is slightly acidic. Its important to put the paper in so it gets good and wet and view it under the same light every time. Give it maybe a minute to change.

I found a pH test kit I really like and recommend. It's made by General Hydroponics, and it's the type where you add drops to your sample and compare to a color chart. It has a surprisingly wide range, 4.0-8.5. The kit I used before this one was meant for aquariums, and it's lower limit was 6.0, making it useless for coca.

Similar to the one I have somewhere but mine does the full ph range. Im gonna have to stop being a tight arse and buy a new one, I know ill find it as soon as I buy a new one but I really cant wait any lo ger my plants are producing tiny leaves and no flowers they used to flower constantly and have good sized leaves.

So as I thought my litmus was well off. I got a new pH testing kit today and tested the water I had been using and the pH kit showed ph3 :o litmus showed 6. No wonder all my baby's have been so fucked for so long

Wow! Beautiful. I'm super impressed. Thanks for sharing. Your plant is extremely compact, much more so than I've ever seen.
Do you pinch/prune frequently or is this solely due to your lighting setup?

I haven't trimmed it at all. It seems to be doing really well this winter sitting in front of a window getting afternoon sun. I have 2 others downstairs under a light, but they aren't any happier than this one. It looks like E novo makes a great houseplant! I'm looking forward to a lot of growth this summer, and hopefully some berries. I've had a sore throat recently, chewing a few leaves that have fallen off really has helped.

I hope mine make berries this year. I even have a few flowers now. I've never seen even one insect interested in the flowers. I might try to pollinate with a small paint brush or something. I gave it a half assed effort once last year with no luck. Any tips from you guys would be appreciated, and hopefully I could offer them in the trading section of the forum.

Dude the reason I didnt reply to your many pms is because your messages where childish using my pet dinosaur and swim and all the othe shit annoys me. Now youve asked properly I will pm you. Check pms also the berries aint viable for long they need to be sealed and generally planted in the tube incase of germination so they dont die. A seedling would be better. I would expect to pay for it as beeries are hard to get and not many will give them away when they could use it to have another plant for them self. That pm I sent will help you.
