I have three that I started from seed two years ago. Growth during the first year was painfully slow. Once the stems became woody, growth rate picked up. I saw a lot of growth last summer, and there were many flowers for most of the summer. They are in front of a window now and doing well, and I even saw a few flowers on one of them. I never got any berries, and I never saw any pollinators on them. I tried to manually pollinate, and I set the bushes next to a flowering shrub that was covered with bees. Still no berries. Hoping for better luck next summer.

You got to change the title to 'Erythroxylum growers unite'
It's only fitting.

IMO if you're going through the trouble of growing your own plant you should at least enjoy the fresh leaves chewed or in a tea.

I'm down to three, one of mine just randomly fucking died on me, it's a shame because it was the only one that flowered and had two little fruits starting to develop. The plant in the middle of the first pic is a pyschotria alba that had spider mites, I fuckin hate spider mites. The last two are growing slow because they are in a fairly bright light, but i'm hoping future seeds will have a chance of being more resistant to bright light. The largest one just took off after about 8 months, I don't know why it did so much better than the others, its the same soil and seeds were germinated at the same time. They do seem to enjoy T5's better than anything else I've tired including the window sill.

Here is my best looking E. novo. The other two are about the same size but this one has a better shape and overall look. I'm going to keep this one in front of the window, I moved the others under a 250 CFL 2700K light. All of grew by a factor of at least 5 last summer, and they had several hours of full sun daily. Last summer I noticed that when I watered with a fertilizer solution with the pH adjusted to the lower to mid 5 range I would see a big increase in growth and flowering.

I think the three of mine will get big enough this summer to actually harvest and use. Lately I've been able to pick up enough leaves off of the floor to get a chew or cup of tea every now and then.
Has anybody has success rooting cuttings? I tried last year in rockwool. It appeared that they had rooted and maybe had grown a little, but I never actually saw roots coming out of the rockwool cubes. I sent them off to someone on another forum and never heard if they grew or not. I might give it a shot soon, one of mine has plenty of branches that are hanging too low and need to be cut.
