I've only used Karo, but the light reasearch I've done on dextrose says about 1 tablespoon per cup of water.  Sounds excessive to me, but thats what I've read.... Anyone else with experience???? Agar??? GL bro :stoned:

Do a little kitchen measure math. You do not want to go over 4%

Usually percentages are by weight.

So for evey 100g total sol'n you want 4g dex.

One benefit of using the metric system is that calculations involving water are extremely easy to estimate becasue 1ml of water weighs 1g.

Mix the dextrose with JUST enough water.... it becomes a liquid solution. Then.... do math by ml, or tea/tablespoons to pint water.

And by this logic, you would want 96g of water to 4 g dextrose powder.

96g h20 = 96ml

millilitres are a volume measurement. You can measure solid liquid or gas in millilitres, Or more properly in Litres.

1ml = 0.001 L

1L = 1000ml

Don't quote me on that.

I'd check to make sure 1 pint is 250ml.

250ml in a cup...A cup is like..well my measuring cup says 1/2 a pint but i can't fit two cups of water into my pint jar :wink:...
I hate america calculations :thumbdown:

Anyways...I did some math...if 4ml-100ml then Xml-250...Xml comes out to be 10mls to 250ml...So 10mls of dextrose to every 250mls...

I've got some yeast as well, how much of that should I put in or none at all thankx everyone :thumbup:

I was wrong,

1 US pint = 473.176475 milliliters

i was thinking about those half pint jars when i was picturing the mls on the side of the box.

gnostic, 1/2 teaspoon will be fine. 1/4 would even work
