Malt/dextrose LC sediment after PC. Carmelization?

Hey, another quick question for you learned shroom growers! Tonite I made my first malt/dextrose LC medium (1 flat tbsp each in a quart of boiling water) and was disappointed with the results. I poured the hot mixture through 5 coffee filters into 1 pint jars and immediately PC'ed for 20 minutes.
When the jars came out, there was what I considered to be an unacceptable amount of sediment at the bottom. I couldn't tell if it was carmalization or not, so thinking "better safe than sorry!" I tossed them and started again.
Same recipe, but this time I was more thorough in keeping the PC temp as low as possible while maintaining 15 PSI. I also cooked for 15 minutes instead of 20. Surely this batch was going to be better!
They look exactly the same. Here's a pic (click for 2000xX huge version)

My concern is the sediment and whether I've thrown the growth potential of the jar off. After taking the pictures and looking at some of the other photos that have been posted of healthy LCs, I guess I'm not sure how mine compares. Are those little floating bits normal? I was expecting a crystal-clear solution, not this hazy cloud. What do you experts think?

nope,
that's how it is with malt/dex.
you'll have to use better filters than coffee filters if you want no sediment,
or pc, and strain the liquid, then pc again.
the sediment doesn't bother anything. The mycelium like it.

i use a recipe with malt extract, and dextros, and that is exactly what mine look like. i filtered through 2 coffee twice. i have sense then used that awesome LC to inoculate spawn bage. every bag is doing just fine. i used an 18g needle, and the sediment did not clog my needle. the LC was ready in less then 2 weeks.

Alright, thank for the responses, guys. I guess I was just surprised by what I was seeing; creamcorn's LCs in his LC Tek are crystal clear, so natch that's what I was expecting!
Having said that, after innoculating from another LC of Golden Teacher, the new LC is off and running. I'll have gallons of live mycelium before I know it

i use the exact same recipe, but i dont filter at all. if there is sediment (there usually is) the myc. will eat it and the solution will clarify after a few days.
