It may be that but the tops of the jars all colonized within 21 days completely. The bottoms were pretty thick with brf probably due to the perlite letting go of too much water while in the pc.

I pounded the jars a little bit this morning and I can already see growth on the bottoms. I believe that was the problem. Hopefully I can birth those in a day or two.

Here are some pics of the cake i birthed using perlite instead of verm.

vermiculte is used for heat retention, it can be absorbed and released by the
vermiculite and it maintains that heat for a pretty good length of time,
the sell it for insulation, BBQs, and fireplaces, this is the first I've heard
of it being used for incubators but it's something I'll be looking into 'cuz
my wife wants some chickens and a few ducks and peafowl (shes never heard how loud
they can get)

dude peacocks are cool but stay the hell away from ginneys thay are the biggest pain in the ass i hate them i usta have 1 peacock and 2 hens plus 10 pea-ginnies , loang store short the peacock took care of tehn and kept them in line but one night some coyotes killed one of the hens and the other 2 flew the coop you could say , aster that it was like lord of the flies and the ginneys would bquack all day long and pick at my sky light when i am hung over and trying to sleep or peck the rubber off my cars
any way had to blast them one day
just stick with chickens i love mine i have the ones that lay the blue green red easter eggs
