Spent Casings
    #396522 -

Hey a friend of mine was wondering, what's a good thing to do with spent casings? Should she just throw them out or maybe find somewhere to put them outside under some nice compost or something?

Yes. My friend does this regularly and after a few weeks or a nice rain, the mycelia will fruit again. Some will, others wont, but the fun is watching the ones that do. Under a bush where some light gets in, works very good.

If you are using verm casing, couldn't you just scrape off the verm and otherwise wash it off, dunk it in h2o2 for a while, place it (or a large chunk of it) in a sterilized pint jar with broken glass and distilled water inside, shake, and voila!, now you have your spawn for your next batch (assuming you have a syringe. What do you think?

My friend hasnt tried that method but she will check into it and post her thoughts later on. Good idea.  Mabe if you do that you can use a different substrate as well to keep the mycelia from getting bored and slow growth. My friend will try it and post results later on.
