First time.. About to grow? Sonic humidifers..

Hey! I am starting to buy everything that will be needed to start up a grow. I already have the pressure cooker and have done some canning with it so that's a plus. I want this to be as maintenance free as possible. I have been looking into sonic humidifiers and was wondering if anyone could recommend a a good one for a fair price that would make my life as easy as possible?? Also, what about spores, can anyone recommend a good beginner spore that has a very high potency. A high yielding spore strain would be nice to. Well, let me know, Thanks alot!

Head to walmart, get any ULTRAsonic there will be fine...for like 30-40 bucks. I'm sure if you looked around online and ebay you could find them cheaper...any ultrasonic will do really.

Names of strains dont mean much...pick any cubie you really like. I like Z's and Amazons myself all around...but you ask 1000 growers and you get 1000 answers.

well not sure which ultrasonic you might want/to fit your needs..holmes makes good ones...when it comes to spores(cubensis)most are very similar in potency,but the actually "trip" could vary...i always recommend B+...big fruits and good trips,check out the shroomery vendors,they'll hook you up good..peace and good luck!!!

aren't they kinda big though? maybe not? also, doesn't it get 2 humid.. that is a lot of water blowing in a small space?? I don't know? how does this work? maybe there are diagrams in the general info.. Ill check it out

yea they can be a little big..what you do is hook the ultrasonic to your growspace via vertical tubing,then hook it up to a timer,you may need to adjust the timers settings,but normally growers run them for like 15-20 minutes every 2-3 hours or so..you want it nice and humid but not over saturated,then if you have a coolmist you run that 24/7,that will keep you humidity from falling and provide all the air exchange you need=self automated setup..peace p3k

Is there a better page with step by step instructions on the martha setup.. Also, I want this to be fairly small.. like a rubbermaid or something.. Nothing near the size of that martha.. Im talking 2 cakes 2-4 cakes. Let me know,

you'll have to modify the tubing to the actually humidifier by silicone,duct tape,whatever works for you...

if your wanting to do 2-4 cakes only then you defenitely dont need this setup...get some perlite,wet it,layer about 2-3 inches in your rubbermaid,then add about an inch of water,then hook up a single outlet fishpump to it,set it on a timer to come on every 3 hours for about 15-25 minutes depending on how big your rubbermaid is and how weak your pump is..peace

U sure this is just as effective and maintenance free? And with the fish pump, do you run the tube with one of those rock air filters on the end down into the perlite water mix? or how does that go.. remember, you are talking to someone who has never grown shrooms.. just a lot of pot.. I have been on Overgrow for awhile. Anyway, i am clueless beside to what i have read and what the pictures show:)

"method to implement this strategy is to put the air pump inside the terrarium. This way the same air is constantly recirculated, constantly increasing its humidity. This can increase the humidity to close to 15% over ambient. This implementation has several disadvantages. First, the key to getting the higher humidity is recirculation of the same air over and over again. This means no hole can be placed at the bottom of the terrarium to allow water and CO2 to escape. You will need to eliminate CO2 at least once a day. The second disadvantage is the fact that the air pump generates some heat and can warm the terrarium by over 10 degrees F. This may or may not be acceptable. One point needs to be noted. The air pump will create some vibration. It is best to suspend the air pump from a rubber band to absorb this vibration. A stiff piece of coat hanger wire can be suspended from one side of the terrarium to the other and the air pump hung from it. Instead of the air tube going through the side of the terrarium, the power cord for the pump goes through the side. Also note that the positioning of the stiff wire to hold the air pump is not critical. It may be better to rotate it 90 degrees from what is shown in the following diagram so that it is easier to remove the drip shield when servicing the terrarium. Also, the power cord and air tube should have some slack in them so that are not being pulled on as the pump vibrates. The ideal scenario is to tie wrap them to the supporting wire."
