Ultra sonic Vs. Cool Mist.

In building a self sufficient terrarium using humidifiers. I know that Ultra sonic humidifiers are suppost to be advantageous over cool mist humidifiers, but does anyone know why exactly.
Will either type of humidifier work. I have some sort of visks humidifier, I am just not sure what type it is. In looking at its internals I have noticed that it seems to have some type of large rotating mechanics on the insides. I am guessing that this somehow gets airflow going and breaks up water physically somehow.
Also it intuitivels seems that in a humidifiers exhaust that you would have to somehow rig a way of hooking pipes into it. Meaning that the exhaust on a humidifier doesnt seem to be standardized in the respect of hooking any type of tubing into it. Such that you might have tp put a tub against the output hole and cover around it with silicon or caulking.
Any ideas on building a self sufficient terrarium would be sufficient.

if your terrarium isnt to large then you can use a perlite method which is easy to maintain and does not need electricity or cost alot of money

In my opinion cool mist is better than ultrasonics...but I have never used an ultrasonic so I am biased. But from what I have heard, ultrasonics will overhumidify, so you need to keep them on a timer.
I have used a cool mist for a long time with no problems, I keep it running 24/7, it provides constant gas exchange and maintainsthe humidity at the perfect level.
You can find a tube that fits snugly in the output of the humidifer and seal it with silicone....or just seal the output hole and drill a new hole in your humidifier with a 5/8" drill and stick a garden hose in there.

Ultra sonics provide smaller water droplets than cool mist humidifiers. I tried to go the humidifier route w/o any luck. Perlite worked for me.
I will start a poll to see what the preferred method of humidification is.

cool mist seems to be easier and will provide all the air exchange you need. I bought an ultra sonic. It works great for me, but I also have an aquarium air pump rigged up for air exchange. I like to leave the ultra sonic on for a few minutes a day on low on the lowest mist volume. water doesn't build up nearly as quikly and it provides more air exchange.

Is that on one terrarium, TeRzMaStA? How big is it? If an ultrasonic only needs to be on a few mins a day then couldn't u run a lot more terrariums from one ultrasonic humidifier, having it on longer as needed?

what kind would be better for a terrarium on the order of 24 cubic feet? (3'x2'x4'). If the ultrasonic overumidifys a smaller terrarium, would it be better in a larger one? Or would a cool mist/perlite combo be better?

same question as above post, but for a larger grow chamber 63 cubic feet (7X3X3)... Perlite just doesnt' do it... it only gets the humidity to 43%. Would you recommend an ultrasonic or cool mist???

In my opinion perlite is better for cakes and cool mist is good for casings. If you do both you will overhumidify

Yes it's one terrarium. It's about four feet long, 1.5 feet wide and 1.5 feet tall. Yes you can run many terrariums off of an ultrasonic.
