Good thinking. If you don't want a relationship with her, don't have sex with her. That would make you pretty much the worst kind of asshole there is.

Your best bet is complete honesty.

Some of the replies here are embarrassingly stupid. If you don't want to hit it, don't. Nothing bad about that. I'd rather try to build normal friendship with her.

If you still are comfortable around her, tell her so! She probably will feel awkward because telling you those things, but please tell her how you feel. She will most likely still want to keep you in her life, and her being honest to you shouldn't be an obstacle.

You did the right thing. Never force yourself. I hope you can work things out. :sun:
