How do I get rid of a virus? (computer =) )

I know this is an idiotic question, since everyone in this day and age knows how and where to remove viruses, but Im pretty lame.

I just went to one of my regular websites and I had literally 119 other pages come up... this means I have something, right?

Doesn't mean it's a virus, you could just have a shit ton of spyware on there. Download ad-aware from here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ and scan your computer, that should do it.

If you want to be sure, you can go to http://us.mcafee.com/?wt.mc.n=us_us_learnmore_home&wt.mc_t=int_pro_hom&cid=10348 and click the link that says "free scan". You have to register, but you can just put down a bunch of bullshit. You can then scan your entire computer for free, but the catch is that you can't remove them, you can only see if you are infected. If that is the case, you can download some trial software off of that same site and remove them, but the software expires on your computer after 15 days.

spybot, adaware and other programs should fix that and if all else fails do what i do ....reinstall windows
