it was more of a friend then a police figure, she informed him of LF's constand harrasments, and then an admin thought it would be logical to just ban syko so noone could harras her.

TheBlkSheep seems to have been upfront about his status and intentions. Why do people think that banning this guy will somehow protect them? Everyone should realize that the internet is a public medium and you have to be very careful what you say. If you aren't comfortable with TheBlkSheep seeing your posts, what about the anonymous, lurking officers who never introduce themselves? We don't reverse DNS our users anymore, but when we did there were always visitors from .gov and .mil in our logs every month. Get used to it, you shouldn't blame this one guy for the current legal climate. Don't post anything incriminating, and sign up for a supporter account so you can use the cool security features. :wink:

He said he was going to ask you to ban him if anyone felt uncomfortable, has he asked?

If nothing else this proves his lack of integrity.

I do not support this decision, though I support the admin's right to make the call.

I think allowing an admitted police officer to post here sets a dangerous precident as well.

Besides outright safety, there's also the comfortability level of the membership to consider as well.

Please consider discussing this issue in the admin forum with a greater degree of magnification.

Yes, if the cop was a regular marijuana smoker and opposed to the federal laws on marijauna, I would indeed burn with this cop. And there are indeed cops like this... There are lots of websites discussing cops against the war on drugs.

In one of his first e-mails to me, he said I should ban him if his presence would cause a problem. I told him he was welcome here and encouraged him to stay. I'm surprised so many people assume he's a bad guy because of his profession. Maybe I'm in the minority here but I never met a cop that wasn't cool with me. Give him a break, if he likes to unwind at the Shroomery I'm flattered.
