This is horrible.
Yes, he's a police officer.
He's just got the balls to make himself known as one.
There have been other people here who have displayed knowledge that could only have come from the LEO side of the fence.

Monitoring him just puts us in the same boat, and makes the overwhelming majority of us severe hypocrites.

If he wants to be a member, than so be it. As i stated earlier, there have been MANY instances in drug discussion forums where a LEO has made some excellent and informative contributions. Some of those scattered posts have saved people from possible prosecution.
Hell, there's even a website BY officers of the law who are against certain aspects of the War on Drugs.

Bottom line, if he wants to stay and breaks no rules, i say we treat him as any other member.
It's better to have an acknowledged and known threat than an unknown one.
If he's even a threat, which has yet to be determined.

Someone could just as easily say "Since he's a drug user, his intentions should be assumed to be bad." It's just plain old bigotry.

He hasn't given anyone any reason to believe that he intends to hurt anyone here, or displayed any kind of malicious behavior. If cops are going to monitor the Shroomery, they're obviously going to do it anonymously. It's not like his presence makes any real difference.

Well, considering (from my limited knowledge) that it was you who induced Syko to call upon the LEA in question that resulted in him being here, i think your voice should be discounted.
Also, all i'm seeing here is a knee jerk reaction to someone based off of their occupation. He seems a good enough guy to me.
