If you still can't find one, then go to a pet store. There you can purchase a heating pad for a terr., or lizard. Which in most cases would be the ideal heating temp. Some come equipt. with thermostats that you control. I use one for my jars....i have no complaints :)

I do no think they are necassary. I always let mine colonize at my house temp (usually in the 70's) and its fine. I fruit em at that temp too.

yep, fiddler is right..
you can buy one at http://www.thatpetplace.com/
They sell T-rex mats.(the t rex mats are set at 100 degrees.. radiating heat)
But no thermostats. I bought a light dimmer switch/rheostat control
temp..
at home depot..14 bucks..well worth it. Better than risking burnin my damn house down.
I wouldn't do the heating pad thing. Micron Majick recommends a heating blanket..
but mine had an auto shut off so I couldn't use that. yer choice

my room temp is in the 70's also, I will be using TC's. With the T rex pad, it says its 100 degrees, isnt that too hot? also, with a heating pad, could i leave it on all the time? would it be bad for the colonization to turn it on and off? is a heating pad or a t rex pad going to make my whole room hot?

any more suggestions? is it worth it to get a heating pad??

I keep my jars in a closed up box on the top shelf of my closet. Then I just leave my closet light on all the time. It stays around 30 degrees C (86F) that way. Stick a thermometer on your closet shelf if you have one.

Swing the groove 'round here, so I can reach it -a.d.

>it says its 100 degrees, isnt that too hot?<

Yes, although it's radiating heat.. it will cook your stuff, that's why you need a rheostat to
adjust the temp down.. Figure a small reptile is on the mat, it can't get so hot it would
scorch it's toesies.
The heat radiates off the mat and heats the objects above it.
>with a heating
pad, could i leave it on all the time?< yes you could but it is a fire hazard in my opinion.
You do have a thermometer right? Be careful. I warped a table that was under my incubator with too much heat using the heating pad.

>is a heating pad or a t rex pad going
to make my whole room hot?<
No.
