winxp dvd rw drivers

I've got an Optorite DD0405. There was no driver disc with the god damned thing when I bought it. It seemed to work ok for a few weeks. Now in the device manager it tells me that the Generic DVD RW 8xMax driver has a problem.. it's got that yellow exclamation point bullshit in the device manager that reads :

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

I hate microsoft... and I hate Optorite even more for not having drivers on their website... only firmware.. those god damn muther fucking anal cunt ass whore bitch mother fuckers...

anyone else have this kind of problem before?

You shouldnt need driver disks for cd/dvd drives in xp. Remove the drive from device manager and reboot. Let it find it again and see if it works.

it worked for a while.. its been some time and many reboots later since it hasn't though...

I got an email from the company for fucking around with the registry... we'll see it works once I get a new keyboard... Mine just crapped out today.

Such great luck I have with puters
