i'm about to set up my mycobags in a fruiting chamber similar to the pftek for simple minds. i was wondering whether to remove my cakes from the bags, or keep them in the bags. also if i remove them from the bags, should i just place them on top of the perlite? thanks for the help.

you can just leave em in the bags, just cut the top off. ive never used bags personally but thats what ive heard. also if you do take em outta the bags, its best to have something between the cakes and perlite IMO, use tinfoil or something

Sometimes mushies grow downward because it's a bit more humid down there...So if u get a mushy working it's way down, don't worry...unless it gets saturated...then pick it and dry it accordingly...or eat it :shroomer:
And putting cakes directly on the perlite

thanks alot guys, cervantes recommend putting one bag on the perlite and keeping the other bag in its original state just in case the other bag goes wrong. now i gotta figure out how to get my 2 bags that stopped colonizing to colonize.

if you cut the top off the bag or put the cake in a small contaoner, would it increase the yeild at all to put a casing layer on top of it?

if you cut it with an 'I' shape you can case it in the bag, just break it up and
make it into a pillow, cut it and toss in the sterile casing
