follow the recepie.

also, did you cover the tops of your jars in foil? helps keep water from dripping in. that + tyvek and i don't have problems.

You probably needed more BRF.
Try using the 2:1:1 ratio (verm, BRF, H2O)

It works well and your jars wont be soggy...
To get perfect moisture content you might need to adjust a little depending on how fine or coarse your verm is.

However, this recipe works at least ok no matter what.

Sounds like your water content was off...or water got into your jar.

----

Maximum fruiting formula:

1/4 cup of brown rice powder
1/2 cup of vermiculite
60 cc's water

----

Some helpful Measures to keep water from getting into your jars:

tape the 4 holes on the jar lid...masking tape is good.

tighten the lids to the jar just snug...not tight.

wrap alum foil around the top for added protection.

when pressure cooking...keep the water level below half way up the jar...on half pint jars.
when boiling water from a pan...good fucking luck not getting water into the jars.

Good luck!~
