Cat people! Q

  So my cats like to play with these little fuzzy balls.  They're almost like dogs: I'll throw the ball and it will roll along the carpet and they'll chase after it.  Occasionally they'll bring it back.  But, when no one's playing with them, they'll  bat the balls around themselves.  Also, they'll carry these things around in their mouths like "prey."  What I don't understand is they consistently pick the balls up in their mouths and drop them into their water bowl.  I have no clue why they do this.  I take the ball out and wring it out in the sink and give it back to them.  But a half an hour later, there will be another ball in the water bowl.  It's sort of like taking a ball off the field of play, or retiring it or something.  Anyway, anyone know why kitty does this?  This is the same kitty with the balding spot on his tummy that's spreading like the south pole ozone hole.  Thanks!  :laugh:

my cats do the same thing, except they knock it under
the closet door and then howl at the wall until I open
and get the ball out.

They do it for the same reason that cats will walk on the table and knock everything on the table onto the floor.

i have a bunch of ear plugs that my cat likes to play with... picks them up in her teeth, walks around, drops it, swats it, bietes it, picks it up and again and again.... they keep dissapearing, so i dont know if she loose's them, or if she's stashing them somewhere.... it's really cute, cause i can just throw one at her at any time of the day, and she's on it...
