Wetfood helps cats get over shyness. Put a bowl near her at the edge of the bed and make sure she sees YOU doing it.

Yeah it's normal. Cats tend to flip out when they are moved to a new location. A lot of them get traumatized by car rides because they associate them with vet visits. She'll calm down.

I agree, the fact that they may live a little longer seems to be really benefit the human more than the cat. One of my roomates had an inside cat that was declawed. It seemed miserable.

Well I'm glad to say I came home from my girlfriend's house tonight and Cutty (I named her!) came out from under the bed to greet me. She's been following me around ever since! She's really a great cat and I'm glad she's enjoying her new home. Here are a few pics I just snapped:
Playing with her toy. The type Astral JL was referring to that you can use to eventually teach them to do backflips, ha.

I'm glad everything worked out for you there Hefe. She is a very beautiful cat and I'm sure you two will get along great. Cats are wonderful animals and I prefer them for companionship over anything (even humans most of the time).

the one that used to backflips is now, 12 years old. shes black & white, was born with no tail, green eyes, shes gained alot of weight, so she looks like a panda.> witch IS her name Panda.
shes quite a wierd, peculiar cat, actually she looked like rabbit when she was kitten. she had big hind legs, witch i think gave her the ability to do flips.

just don't ever punish your cat, they don't understand it at all. if she touches her nose to yours, that means that she considers you her equal and if she just and only rubs her facial glands on you, she considers you her property. she most likely had a bad experience with a human and is just getting to know you. cats love to have a bed up high near the ceiling. i have four bengals and a singapura. singapuras are the smallest cats and are the sweetest too.

We live in an apartment, and so don't get to let our cats out except for the balcony. When we get a house (hopefully soon) I'll think about letting them out in the backyard, if I can it'll be on a leash. My mom's cat goes outside pretty well every day, on his leash. Well, in the summer time, anyway.
Cats live far more healthy and long lives if kept indoors all the time. Keeping them indoors almost entirely removes the risk of infectious disease, as well as keeps them away from fighting with other animals. Not to mention the road.
I dunno, all my cats have roamed freely outdoors and have lived some long lives. Why the leash? It seems contradictory and unnecessary to the nature and abilities of a cat.

hey astral_jl, they do both but if they don't respect you they will only rub on you. sounds like your cat loves you. my oldest and first cat gets jealous when my other cats try to sit with me and she tries to bully them, but she's 10 years old now and starting to relax a little.

yea mine is an old one, she also bullies our other dogs, she still hasn't lost her fire after all these years.
hey does it mean they like you, if they catch a bird and put on your bed while it bleeds all over it?

That, or they're warning you that you're next... if you don't start giving bigger portions of kitty treats.

they are giving you their prized possesion. when my cats catch something they run around trying to keep each other from getting it. they'll growl at each other and run off with it. birds seem to be their favorite. you should try to pet your cats from day one while they're eating food, especially if it's wet food. they'll associate the pleasure of eating something good with your love.
