Rye bag question..

Just got two rye bags going. In one there is a grain that is black and looks gooey :crazy:

I got it stuck to the side of the bag and is totally isolated from any other grains, in hopes it will dry up or something. After 3 days in the incubator, it remains unchanged.
I see other black dots in the grains, but they look normal. I hope this is just a darkened grain or something.
Obviously, this is my first experience with grains, so, does this sound familiar to anyone?

I recently germinated a few kernels of rye and discovered ergot on one of them
dont worry about the little black one, I'm sure he's just there because of affirmative action

Gooey is NEVER a good sign but I dont use rye so.....Do a little experiment then when this question comes up again you will be able to answer it.
