One of my rye bags is colinizing late, Q's...

I bought 2 EZ-gro kits from Homestead. I dropped the spore swab in both rye bags at the same time, within 2 mins of each other. One of the rye bags colonized within a week and a half and is already planted and doing well, the other one is colonizing very slow, it has been 22 days since I inoculated the rye. Id say about half the bag is white while the other half isn't doing shit. Should I give it a couple more days or just plant the colonized grain??

Dave T isn't responding to my questions, so I figured Id get good advice here.

Good answer A-hole. I would wait a couple more days. I have not used their stuff but maybe you can break it up and mix it around a little bit to help it move along a little quicker.

I've had good results growing on grain when I take a half innoculated bag and give it a good shaking to redistribute the colonized mycelium throughout the bag. The growers FAQ on this site has a blurb about growing on grain that might be handy if you're considering this. Also, I once innoculated 2 bags within minutes of each other and had similar results, one colonized fast and the other took about a week longer. I birthed the slower in to the same terrarium as the faster one, and believe it or not they both got their first pins within a day of each other. I wouldn't worry about anything unless one of the bags seems to stop growing completely or something. Hope that helps!
