Newbie syringe question.....

I am a FNG at mushroom cultivation. I have a very basic question. How many half pint jars can one inoculate with one syringe?

I do 10 because I like them to colonize quicker.

the more u plan to put into a jar the more holes u should have in the lids, the reason is if u over innocl in one hole, it will be too wet and the substrate will start to ferment and not colonize properly.

regarding your q, how many cc is the syr? 10 then do 10 jars if 12 then do 12jars.

One of my elves tells me he only does about 7 or 8. Using the Cascading Innoculation Tek, he likes to cascade almost 1/2 a cc in each innoculation point.

And he doesn't bother with holes in the lids or tape, he just takes the lid off and quickly innoculates then puts lid back on. He says all you need a clean room to do it in. No hepa air filters or any precautions at all other than a little common sense. Like he says, get rid of the mouldy bread, the corpse in the corner and the skeleton in the closet and you should be good to go!

Depends on syringe size. Most vendors sell either 10 or 12 CC syringes. PF-Tek suggests 1 CC per jar. So 10-12 at the most.

Depends who you get them from, I've done 20 with 3m's syringes, but he uses a whole print in each syringe, most other vendors syringes are practically clear in my experience. As long as you use enough for it to drip to the bottom of the jar or close, you're alright.
