Prepearing Amanita Muscaria for oral ingestion

Is this a successful method of prepearing Amanita Muscaria for oral ingestion?

1. Place the amanitas (every part of the mushroom) on a glass-plate and put them in the oven.
2. How much heat should I apply and for how long?
3. The juices should be dripping out of the mushrooms, and I should be pouring them back on them until it doesn't drip out anymore. Am I right?

After that, can I eat them just like that? And how many?

Any help is very gladly accepted! :smile:

The prparation this way is good. heating is important, yes, I would say set your oven on 300?F.

If you have lots, I would just concentrate on the skin of the caps. Cut off the stalks and scoop out the gills with a spoon, kinda like eating a cantaloupe.

300 c is 150 f.

Try 5 - 10 grams dried for your first trip. I've sold off all the Amanita's I picked up north last year and most of my customers said they had a mild trip from just a few grams.

By the way, it's spelled Amanita muscaria. Amanita is always capitilized, muscaria is always small case and to be real picky, the scientific names should always be italictized.
