Amanita Help
    #4411769 - 07/16/05 03:17 PM (11 years, 4 months ago)

I keep reading stuff that says amanitas cannot be cultivated indoors. Is this true? has no one been able to cultivate it? I dont see why it couldnt if you provide the proper substrate + conditions.

If anyone has any info that describes how to cultivate it, plz post.

From what I've heared, it is impossible because they have symbiotic relationship with trees. In other words, you would have to cultivate a tree in order to cultivate amanitas.

not impossible, but difficult - i'm sure i read that some people have used inoculated seeds (?) / inoculated saplings (?) and waited a few years with partial successes. it's definitely not easy like cubensis + flour, i'm afraid.

oh, i didn't notice the inside part. thanks deb. so you have your substrate and conditions:

1) use a pickaxe in the cellar to get down to the earth
2) plant a small tree as substrate, whose roots have been inoculated with amanita muscaria mycelium
3) allow the mycelium to involve with the substrate sufficiently to allow fruiting. this may take some time (years). you may have to leave the windows open, maybe knock a few walls down
4) pick your indoor amanita muscaria!
5) come and tell us all about it.

yea that's something totally unheard of at least by me. it's not like a tree can be replicated by WBS...*thinks*...thiers probably a way though...
Take care
