I've inoculated seven jars about a month ago and only one jar is really growing, the other six just a growth about the diameter of 1.5cm (.75 ) inches. Is there any way that i could speed up the process?

I have a few questions for you.

1. What size jars?

2. How much spore solution did you inject into each jar?

3. Where are you keeping them and at what temp?

1 month is a really long time for that little ammount of growth. It should be done by now if not close. I might give it another week to see if there is anyimprovement then toss em..

Do you have appropriate temperature?(80-85?F)
A month is very long, do the jars smell? Did you sterilize them properly? is the water content OK?

I inoculated with roughly 1.5cc per jar, the size is roughly 1 pint, They have been in cupboard, its winter where i live and its been a bit chilly lately so last week i went out and bought a fish tank heater, ive placed my jars in a large tupperware with water and the heater set on roghly 24'c which i think 75'f. I've also ordered a heating pad but that will only arrive in two weeks. i just checked my jars and there is no smell. The water content looks fine execpt for my 4th jar there is alot of moisture collecting towards the bottom half of the jar.
