No it's not good for shrooms. It was, though. 'Mushroom Compost' is a compost made from spent mushroom substrates. The variety I sampled was enriched w/ urine (I believe) to compensate for the nitrogen loss. Anyway, I sure wouldn't recommend it for growing mushrooms. Instead, get organic manure or organic manure compost. You can do real well w/ a $5/40 lb bag of commercial stuff.

Not all mushrooms compost is bad, contrary to popular beleif. Read the back of the bag, if it even slightly mentions being used to grow mushrooms, or being used before then it won't work. I have personally used a commercial compost designed for mushroom cultivation, but it hasn't been used prior to grow mushrooms prior to being sold. I think the brand is Perma-Green.
