I have been trying to find wormcastings at every nursery and gardening centre in town but thusfar have found none. What I have found alot of is mushroom compost and I was wondering if anyone has tried using this as a substrate ingredient or if it would work at all

Mushroom compost sold is the SPENT mushroom compost that has already been used for mushroom cultivation. It?s worthless for the cultivation of P. cubensis.

Not all mushroom compost sold comercially is spent.
We have a company that sells unused mushroom compost in bags just like any regular compost. Its the same compost they use for agaricus farming, this compost is unused, and works well for outdoor cultivation, but I have had limited success with it indoors.

True, but you guys are a specialty store. YOu won't ever find compost made for mushroom cultivation at your local nursery, wall mart, K-mart, etc. HOwever, you can make your own from these places...

When I said we, I ment my state, sorry for any confusion.
The company is called PermaGreen, they have retail outlets at wal-mart, k-mart, Albertson's, and many nurseries around the state. They are a nation wide company and I'm sure you can find their products elsewhere.
Never say Never. Its them absolutes that'll kill ya.

http://www.permagreenorganics.com/store/pg/main_pg.html http://www.permagreenorganics.com/store/pg/pg_mcb.html Upon second inspection I notice that they are perhaps only a regional company. But I have seen there products outside of Colorado.
