Some Charlie Parker perhaps...the ken burns jazz has a nice selection of his works.

I'm an eternal fan of Stan Getz, "The Essential" has a nice mix, but my personal favorite is him & Joao gilberto doing a bunch of bossa novas.

Charlie Hunter Trio/Quartet is awesome, the shango is a great cd.

And of course, a little miles lovin never hurt anyone

jazz huh? how about john scofield, nina simone, elvis costello?

STS9- most chill
Del tha funkee homosapien- muy bien
APC- killer
Ween- amazing
NOFX- pretty good
Modest Mouse- outstanding
Ugly Casanova- pretty spiffy
Galactic- groovy
Sublime- classic
Primus- quality
Ministry- great shit for those days when all you want to do is kill

From what hasn't yet been suggested, I'd recommend You to check out Sidsel Endresen & Bugge Wesseltoft duo (I really love them, here's a sample), Stereolab (oh, yeah :yesnod:

) and for some wine soaked melancholy - The Reindeer Section. Enjoy :sun:
