Make Me Angry
    #3482196 - 12/11/04 03:17 PM (19 years, 3 months ago)

Note to mods: This is an honest philosophical experiment and I ask that for this one thread, that you guys let everything fly and do not lock it - at least for a few days. This may be carthartic and I might even learn something.

Yet once again I have been accused of hurting other's feelings. If the problen was inherent in the words, then ALL readers would be negatively affected. If the problem was with the reader's perception and self-image, then only some would be outraged. Does the responsibility lie with the poster for every potential reader's mindstate? I am not talking about explicit violations of decorum. I also find it ironic that those who have a problem with my "style" can't wait to read my posts just so as to get offended. Is there not an ignore function?

Anyhoo, here is the deal: if you can piss me off, I will publicly apologize to EVERYONE who has ever felt slighted and completely change my tactics. I will wager that you cannot because words only have the power that I give them NOT the other way around. I will set up a few basic ground rules:

1. No lies, fabrications or hypothetical imaginings.
2. No attacking others.
3. No revealing anything that I have shared in private.

That's it. Fire away. BTW, I will be honest if someone actually gets to me.

I predict this thread will be locked faster than a Mormon's chastity belt.

As for me, I know you too well to think I could piss you off.
And you know me well enough to know I wouldn't try such a thing.

Good luck with the thread while it lasts.

If someone does not like what you say they don't have to read it. Complaining because they do not agree with your viewpoint is bogus. Anyone who can be hurt by reading words on a page needs to examine their priorities. Your posts have usually been impeccable in that they are on topic and well thought out, while true harrassment is in the insults and accusations that you, under many circumstances, have handled well. While I never totally agree with you I am not here to agree, but discuss. Conflict leads to a paradigm shift in human conciousness. If someone takes it personal that you would disagree with them they have lost all objectivity and are ruled wholly be ego.

When you know someone's trying to piss you off, unless you are very emotional it really doesn't work  :smirk:

It's the instances when people make such a stupid remark, and believe every word of it, that is what makes many people angry. Though not usually me, taking offense to what others say just shows that it's a threat to what you believe, no matter how much someone would like to think they hate the remark because it's insensitive or stupid. If that was the case, then it'd just roll right off them, but instead the ego realizes its threat and soaks it up to the last drop

I think you will not get angry because your beliefs seem to take the path of least resistance. They do not need to make a leap of faith, they are not fragile or easily destroyed, so when others make comments, no matter how much you disagree, you realize they are no threat to your personal beliefs so you just argue them instead of becoming emotional.

So long as you are praised think only that you are not yet on your own path but on that of another.

Why set up ground rules?
I understand the third rule, it makes sense.
It should go without saying.
Why the first two rules?

Break them if you choose, I am nobody's master.

1. Here is my reasoning: I do not lie about others (i.e. "Nice post coming from a child-molester..." or whatever.) Damaging someone's reputation cannot be construed on the same plane as challenging another's philosophical contention. So if people are leaving this forum in droves because of my words and these statements are not fabrications, then I am attempting to feel what they feel on the same footing.

2. The rules still apply and are there to protect people. I cannot waive that protection for others.

You think you have all the answers, and chime in Way too much, with sarcastic, off the subject, debunking of long thoughts, that require more than just a one liner to address an issue. You were clearly abducted as a child and had your brain altered.

This thread is horrible.
A thread is the sum total of the input by it's participants is it not?

1. No lies, fabrications or hypothetical imaginings.

Ok this:1. Here is my reasoning: I do not lie about others (i.e. "Nice post coming from a child-molester..." or whatever.) Damaging someone's reputation cannot be construed on the same plane as challenging another's philosophical contention. So if people are leaving this forum in droves because of my words and these statements are not fabrications, then I am attempting to feel what they feel on the same footing.

clarifies your first rule that was at best ambiguous.

It's cathartic isn't it?

So by making people angry you're doing a good thing.

Ambiguous always gets to me, it really makes me mad.

Woohoo, I'm glad that's off my chest.

Spontaneous combustion can be explained by telekinetic attacks from Reptilians in the 4th dimension working for the Illuminati. Only when Nibiru's orbit comes near earth again in 2012 will we be given the means to counter these attacks. BTW, evolution is a myth and all life was planted on Earth as an interplanetary experiment by the Annunaki.
