Pressure Cookin' Question

When sterilizing in a pressure cooker (like a 50/50+ casing mix) and one doesn't have any special bags for the material can the casing material be sterilized in a pillow case? If not what would be a suitable solution? Thanks in advance for any info.

My step-cousin in law's pet moose usually put his shit in the microwave and zap that shit for about 5 minutes. He lets it cool for another 10 minutes and zaps it again for 5 minutes. He has had no problems with contamns...

Yes you can use a pillow case. Jars work, or go to the supermarket and get some cooking bags. Their next to the tinfoil, etc.. Get the large size, not the turkey size (jumbo).

ah, but do jars work just a well as the expensive little bags? If so, then why does anyone bother with the bags?

That's such a stupid question. The use of autoclave bags over jars or anything else is completely relative to the specific person who is doing it. Autoclave bags are great for bulk STERILIZATION. Jars also acomplish this but you need more glass to get the same effect. Why does any one BOTHER??? because their INTERESTED! ..........peace
