Potting Soil

ok,

For my first casing attempt im going to use potting soil / verm w/ crushed oyster shells. First off, the potting soil says it comes steralized.. should I steralize it again? Second.. is potting soil good to use instead of peat moss? What kinda of experiences have you guys had with potting soil ?

If you have time and it doesn't bother you to steralize your soil, itwouldn't hurt, especially if it has been exposed to air for a long period of time but I have heard that peatmoss works better than soil but both do work. I have never tried either myself though.

Always remember, the glass is ALWAYShalf-full!

I have used potting soil/ potting soil and verm, and straight verm. Potting soil with verm did the best, their wasn't a big discrepancy though in yields. I sterilized mine in the microwave.

Potting soil often contains peat in high percentage.
I use it all the time, mine has 80% peat.
