Yeah I've tried a few different kinds. Some home-brewed, some mix kits from drinkabsinthe.com (getting more this friday!) and some commercially bottled stuff sold in a coffee bar where I used to live.

At 150 proof, MOST of what you feel is the alcohol. There is something...different...about the drunk feeling, though. Almost undescribable, though I would say it's a slight euphoric feeling separate from the alcohol intoxication.


I have only one tip for absinthe drinking: stick to single shots, or SIP IT SLOW. You don't want to start guzzling cupfulls of this stuff...believe me :wink:

The good way how to drink Absinthe,is to fill the glas. Then you take a spoon with a pice of sugar and pure whater over it, until the sugar is gone.

Thats way you get Absinthe Spoons.

We can get a huge variaty in Europe. We have so many brands from all over Europe. Most of them are realy good.

What is illegal about it? The alkohol?

Why can they smoke wheed in Holland
And drink Absinthe all over Europe.

It can't be so bad for you.

Where I live, they used to grow Mariuana. It lays back about 120years, but they did it. Leagally

Thujone is the illegal part. I'm pretty sure it causes brain damage, at least in large/chronic doses.

Why not just get a nice spirit you like, that doesn't taste disgusting, and doesn't make you're throat feel like you just swallowed ground up glass.. and drink twice as much of it, twice as fast?

Yes I've tried absinthe.. it was rubbish. As if you couldn't guess.
