Bufo Alvarius Beginner
    #3427012 - 11/30/04 08:21 AM (19 years, 4 months ago)

Hi there,
this is my first message. I am looking for a BUfo Alvarius because after many trips i decided to be focused in to this toad. But I have no idea how to have one. I read many forums about extraction of Bufotenine and 5Met-o-DMT, and now I would like to practice it....
if can any one can help me...
I am interest about the dosage for a beginner...
Thanks

welcome to the shroomery, porro pal!
such animals are a bit hard to find and when one finds them, they use to be fairly expensive.
unfortunately i don't know who works with them, try a search engine or browse around the vendors...
for dosages and more information i'll point you www.erowid.org as a good source.
take care, such alkaloids are active on a few milligrams dosage.

If the main focus is for extracting drugs then i think to toad is in for a world of hurt. How about asking how to take care of it and keep it alive , happy , and healthy at that.

if you're going to "seek the holy" then I would recommend that you use a healthy dose of respect. i.e. respecting the toad and its life.

make sure you get a suitable aquarium/habitat for the little guy, and do some reading... i think bouncing bear sells them as male/female pairs.

True i know what your saying FH. I just have a great love for all animals. And i have seen a good many of them die for purposes of the Holy or just to get high.
I agree zero. Respect is something well rewarded. Plus if you spend near 300$ for a pair i think your best bet would be to pamper them. IF they died you would be out the 5meo the money the beautiful toads. Im just saying know your stuff and be cautious. Much love always .

there are several plants which contain bufotenine, 5meo-dmt, dmt, &/or similar chemicals (& the plants won't pee on you when you pick them up...)

It's a shame, this toad has done nothing wrong, basically it's only fault is that is possess such a powerful substance. Either:

A) people kill it for a tea
B) treat it poorly just for the drug
C) actually have respect for life and treat it kindly

To the thread starter, I sincerely hope you are person C. As to your question, I am not familiar with extracting 5-MEO-DMT from the toad. I suggest looking into plants rather than the animal.

These toads are now endangered. I doubt you'll be able to get your hands on one.

How were you informed that they are endangered?

According to the U.S. fish and wildlife service's web page located here: http://endangered.fws.gov/wildlife.html

They aren't listed on the threatened or endagered species list, which is located here:
http://ecos.fws.gov/tess_public/TESSWebpageVipListed?code=V&listings=0#D

Toads that are endangered:
Houston Toad ( Bufo houstonensis)
Puerto Rican Crested Toad ( Peltophryne lemur)
Wyoming Toad ( Bufo baxteri (=hemiophrys))

As far as I'm away they are only under protected status in CA. where their possesion is outlawed. If you are really into toads then by all means go for it, but they need to be carefully cared for. As an entheogen source they aren't very efficient. You can only milk small amounts occasionally. As for breeding, it's extremely hard to get them to breed in captivity and really can only be done with the aid of injected hormones as I understand it.

Perhaps they are just protected. I read a long time ago that they were endangered. No clue where.

I dont know about California but these toads are far from endangered. In the wild they copulate like crazy. They are very plentiful in many places. They don't need to be killed to make a tea from their skins. One can simply milk them to get what one is searching for. The goo just needs to be dried and voila! You're good to go.

I still say go with phalaris/yopo/cebil if your only seeking the the substance.

I agree with gdman. Alot less hassle and you dont have to endanger an animals life.
