I pulled these shrooms out of the freezer today. The ones on the left were put directly in the freezer in a container. Notice the bluing. The ones on the right were dried, then put in a container, then in the freezer. Stay cool!-Levi7.

Make sure that your image is below 100k or it will not attach. Post a message, choose 'preview/attch a file' checkbox then browse and choose the file from your harddrive. Once it's attached you can find it's URL on the shroomery and wrap it in [image] markup tags so it will appear in your post, but you don't have to do it. Just make sure it's attached and someone else will. In the future, if you try and it doesn't work you can just edit your post and choose 'delete' so you don't get a thread full of 'Ok, I'll try again...' posts. Hope that helps - I really want to see your pics so try again. If it still won't work just email me them and I'll post them for you. Thanks, Wombat! Yeah, the pic was over 400k. I'll try again. Stay cool!-Levi7. It worked! Although, as it is, it's almost 50k and doesn't seem to be able to be enlarged. Oh, well! Again, thanks and stay cool!-Levi7.

putting shrooms in the freezer aint a good idea because their cells will break up and you could end with a blackish goo... i suggest against it and instead use just the fridge, mushrooms must be uncovered

Thanks, Spacey, I sure could use your advice on shrinking these pics without making them so small. This is my first succesful pic and given the knowledge, I could post many pics of the beautiful mushrooms found here in Doug Fir, USA! PM with help, if you will. Stay cool!-Levi7.

Airdog, thanks for the advice. I agree with what you posted. Although, I set aside a few to put into the freezer for future reference, considering the bruising effect. All of the Psilocine escaped(I believe, after 7 months) ! I was excited with this patch of Ps. cyanescens and hope to find them again this fall. But, I will admit that it's the only patch of cyans I ran into during the fall 2000 season. Ps. stuntzii and pan subbalteatus is a different story. I've found them this spring, although, in small quantities and failed to take any pictures. They are a weakly hallucinogenic species regardless. Anyway, keep picking those Mexi-magicals and stay cool!-Levi7.

Ok, here's how to get good internet pictures, in detail. . - Get Paint Shop Pro (free download). http://www.jasc.com - When you scan the image in, make it big - 150%-300% of photo size. - Using the selection tool in PSP, draw a dotted rectangle framing the mushrooms, leaving as much of the background out as possible (waste of space). - Select image -> crop to selection. - Now you have a perfectly framed mushroom picture. - Select 'save-as' -> choose JPG -> click options -> adjust compression/quality setting. The higher the compression, the smaller the image will be but the less quality. Try and keep it as high as possible without going over 100k (for the shroomery anyway). - I always have mine set on max (or one notch below) then I just shrink the actual image size if it's not below 100k. (Image -> Image Size -> then choose 'percent' not 'pixels' - That's that. GIF format is even smaller but gives best results for images with lots of the same color (like cartoons) don't use it for photographs. My little wombat icon is a GIF thus the transparant background. Anyway, don't worry about GIFs. The important thing is to get a good frame, so the background is left out which takes up lots of space. The purpose of scanning it in at 150% - 300% is to make the mushrooms that you're going to frame as large and detailed as possible. If you scanned it in at 100%, cropped the image and found it was only 20 or so K and wanted to enlarge it you could, but the quality is horrible. Never enlarge the original, just scan it in bigger. You can make it smaller from there if you want. Hope that helps get some good pics up!
