should i harvest these buds? (no pic)
    #3344795 - 11/11/04 12:17 AM (19 years, 5 months ago)

Well SWIM has a White Widow plant that is about 18" tall and is ready to harvest. Since he planted it late and there isn't too much to harvest, he's wondering if he can clip off the joints worth of nugs and grow the plant for another year? Should i just wait for the flowers to die and then smoke them? I so wanna harvest this, but if it won't grow for another year or 2, i can wait.

I'm no expert, but I grew one year, and I know that the cuttings I took for branching only stopped growth for about a week, after which the plant continued to grow at its usual rate, but with two shoots instead of just one.

I would imagine, based on the structure of the plant, that cutting buds would be no different than taking clippings. It shouldn't halt growth, although I don't know how long it would take until it buds again.

That sounds like a logical answer, and i've taken cuttings before. I'm clipping these puppies off so i can have a sweet ass joint in a few days with my girlfriend. Peace

Clipped my little nugs, and they're sitting on a notebook drying. Think this will work ok to dry this little amount? Should i tie string to all of the bottom stems and hang upside down (sounds a little stupid, haha).

I read something somewhere about drying nugs in a paper bag... not sure if the bag should be open or closed. Anyway, I'm sure it depends on the humidity of your area (you don't want them to rot sitting in a bag) and the density of the nugs. If you've got nice fluffy buds, then a paper bag would probably be great for drying them evenly throughout, but if you've got those dense little guys that make a *CLUNK* sound when dropped from two inches above a hard surface, then air drying may be the way to go. Or if you know you are going to roll a joint, and you only have that much herb available, you could just grind those little guys up now, and they would dry in no time....
