Different Salvia species.
    #3340397 - 11/10/04 08:41 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

As I'm sure some of you know, Salvia Divinorum is illegal in Australia. Just wondering if any other Salvia species contain any of the active substances, and if its possible for them to be extracted.

Thanks.

Unfortunatley, the active substances are also illegal in aussie, they are the highest schedule too I beleive. Anyway, as far as I know, there was one or two other salvia species that were being rumored to be active in some way, but I don't think these contained Salvinorum A but rather a different chemical. Sorry don't have any links on it hopefully someone else here can point you in the right direction

There are a number of salvias which are reported to be active, however whether or not they actually are is still somewhat debatable. However the general consensus is that no other known species of salvia is psychoactive to the degree of salvia divinorum, and I'm not sure if salvinorin is present in these species.

Here's an article on other possibly active salvias:

I've never heard of anyone having a full salvinorin breakthrough on any other salvia.

Just wondering, would requesting salvia d. seeds in the Marketplace on this site be classed as requesting illegal substances because im in australia? Do the seeds contain any of the scheduled substances?

Sorry, but your not going to find anyone in the marketplace with Salvia D. seeds

You'll have to get a cutting since Salvia D. rarely every gives off seeds, and if it does most are not viable.  The seeds do not contain Salvinorin A

There are many many different varities of Salvia and they are not active. You want Salvia Divinorum

I hope you find the plant because it is a great experience.
I know a website where you can purchase some cuttings, if you are interested I could PM it to you
