Salvia guaranitica (pics)
    #411614 - 10/02/01 06:54 PM (23 years, 6 days ago)

I've been collecting salvia species for over 10 years.I have about 10 or more different species.Unfortunately,
I don't have a single S.divinorum specimen, which is ironic because reading about the divinitory sage is what got me interested in salvias to begin with.I'm just gonna have to break down and order me some I guess.
Here's some photos of Salvia guaranitica (2 forms).I have no idea if they possess ethneogenic qualities.I will say this,I've never seen a plant that hummingbirds liked more than these.Normally hummers seem to prefer red or orange flowering plants, but they'll skip right over those to get to these.I call'em hummingbird crack plants.
These plants originate in South America. They are fairly hardy in the Southern U.S.,living as perrenials.

This is my favorite color form. It's not quite as hardy as the dark blue, but it stills does well in my climate.

Felix,I'd like to see your salvia pics.Maybe I can help you ID them.Of course, I think there are over 200 species of salvias, and I've only seen about 20 different kinds, but maybe it's some type I'm familiar with.
