Kido's setup Pics
    #3337253 - 11/09/04 02:51 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

Hey everyone,

I know that one of my favorite things to do here at the Shroomery is check out everyones grow setups, and I thought I would share mine with you. Enjoy.

PmP, TiT above.

The below is all the stuff I use for my grow.

Air pumps (2x5500), air hoses, Bubble wands and stones, Verm, Perlite (rarely), Geolite, Rye Berries, Popcorn, Coco Coir (Eco Earth), Lights, Casing trays, Quart jars, Digital Hygrometer Thermometer with external sensor, Silicon, Latex sterilized gloves, face masks, Black electric tape, calcium carbonate, BRF (In case I feel like making cakes). Etc most of the basics.

For those of you wondering about some of the ingredients heres some closeups of the products that some people have a hard time finding.

Coco Coir (Eco-Earth brand coconut fibers.

Air Pumps

Heres my pressure cooker, it holds 5 Quart sized jars very comfortably.

My fruiting chamber, prior to geolite addition. Two pumps and 4 hoses total, two under the geolite and two at the top of the chamber.

Heres the hoses

My lighting system is two solid mounted, velcro attatched flourescent lights, battery operated, producing lots of light and little heat. AC adapters also.

My Hygrotermometer

My TiT incubator, 50 gallon fishtank heater mounted to the bottom with 4 tall 1/2 pint jars to prevent the tub breaking anything when placed in. I love this damn thing.

With jars...

My accomplice helping...

Thse are a few shots from the grow I started last monday. Rye berries in 12 quart jars were soaked for 24 hours, simmered for 1 hr and 15 min and pressure cooked at 15psi for 1 hr.

Tuesday innocculated with 2 10cc syringes, Hawaiin and GT.

This is the jars today, 6 Days in my TiT...

Lemme know what you guys think. See ya.

Dude your cat looks cool.

Anyway, we have the same hygrometer, works great huh?

I like how neat and tidy your setup is.  I've seen some bad ones since I've been cultivating, but I've also seen some nice ones and yours is one of the nicer looking ones.  Very organized and professionally approached IMO.

What kinda pressure cooker is that?

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.

Its made by a company called splendid. Even though its not an AA, my girlfriend and I couldnt really justify spending 200.00 on a pressure cooker so we shopped around. As it turns out NOONE carries them once fall starts, so we checked everywhere with no luck. We both have decent jobs so it wasnt really money holding us back, just a concience kinda deal, so we went to a store called Linens and things, which is just a really over priced store for things you can usually just find at walmart. Thats where we found this one. Considering it costs 70.00 I feel we could have done much worse and much better. But Ive used it over a dozen times with no noticable problems, so if anyone is having a difficult time finding a moderately priced pc, check these out, im very satisfied with it.

Mine's supposedly 8 qt and I got it for $40 the other day at walmart.

I think its something like 14 or 16, but it can only actually fit 5 jars. The great thing about it is that it has like 4 different methods of releasing pressure, so you can speed up the process based on what youve got cooking, versus dumping cold water on the top and possibly messing up your jars. It works really well, and for a small operation like mine, 4x 1 sq ft casings per week it works great. Its probably very much along the lines of Presto PCs, but I think this one might be a little better. Cant say for sure.
