I came across this while surfing the web. This guy used a shoe rack from K-mart, sealed it up with tape and a plastic dropcloth. He humidifies with a cool mist. and the inside.... What do ya think?

LOL, I see the signature leakage of the cool mist humidifier... This guy should just duct tape the middle part where the top and bottom come together....

Yeah. Thats funny, actually in this guys web site he talks about sealing the seam to stop the leakage. But he said that he would then need to remove the duct tape everytime he needs to fill it with water. He also had the idea of sealing the seam with duct tape, then cutting a hole in the casing through which water would be poured to fill the resorvoir. He just hasn't decided what would work best yet and is holding off until contact is made with the shroom gods for further consultation. This is what he says on his web site at least.

I sealed mine with silicone, and then drilled a hole in the casing for filling. Go to a hardware store and buy a sink stopper for a buck. Works great.

This guy sealed his cool mist last night with duct tape. He figures he'll just fill it back up with water, through the hole he has for the outlet tube. He had this same setup before, and had it tweaked perfectly. It will take some time before he gets it working as well in its new location though. He is going to allow me to post some pics of those casings when they're done! I can't wait to see them.

This guy said he lost his fluorescent fixture in during a move. He is going to buy a new oneand place it on the top shelf which is smaller than the other three. Dumloves.. He says that i can post pics of the trays once the begin fruiting. He also is in the process of photographing the process of one of the trays from spawn to fruiting, which he will let me post at a later date.

1> is that plastic air tight with the floor? 2> how long does the cool mist run for daily? 3> is there a problem with condensation dripping from the end of the hose that enters the enclosure? pfft

The dude said these are good questions. 1. No it is not air tight to the floor. He did this so that the air from the cool mist is pumped into the top of the enclosure, in turn displacing the C02 and older "staler" air out the bottom. 2. He runs the cool mist 24/7 during pinset, and reduces it for cropping. During the cropping phase, he also loosens the plastic sheet in front(whatever is needed to reduce humidity to around 90%) 3. Yes. He is worried about this and has not found a solution yet. For now he just has the hose situated so that any water dripping from it will not run into the cased trays. Any Ideas??
