i am somewhat disappointed in the way most people seem to be treating the mystery that are mushrooms. We should be following in the steps of our ancestors, and instead of using mushrooms to have a good time on a weekend we should use them to "commune with god" or whatever you may believe in. These mushrooms produce bad trips in some because of the separation between mind and matter, good and bad, real and unreal. In order to get the most out of these experiences I would suggest reading something by Alan Watts, who I have found to be a very clear and concise writer who can give many ideas to help expand your conscoiusness. Each mushroom adventure should be treated with the utmost respect, and to grow them yourself is to really understand this. The intricate connection between what we call internal and external is illuminated when one sees that these fungi go from being an object to becoming part of ourselves. Extrapolate upon your experiences, nature has a myriad of things to teach, and every moment is wasted not listening. If you don't see this now, mushrooms will help show you.

Yeah I'm dissappointed too that people take mushrooms so seriously and define their notions of spirituality around the mushroom experience.

i do agree that mushrooms should be spiritual and not abused but dont force other people to do what you think is right

I am not telling other people what to do at all. I am just explaining my own experience. I have done LSD on multiple occasions, most of which were just for fun. I got fried and just hung out, caused mischief, but once I added a little meaning to my life and I tried LSD again the experience was much more memorable and goes straight to the core of my being. I can't say if any of this applies to people out there, but it just seems that people are being superficial. There are two ways to approach mushrooms, recreational, or spiritual. I for one, enjoy the spiritual side. Don't take it from me though, just be open-minded.

i believe acid is more of a "fun" drug and isnt very spiritual unless you want it to be. shrooms seem to me to be more spiritual

There is a point when acid stops being "fun" and starts being an intense spiritual journey. Maybe a lot of people don't realize this because a lot of acid floating around these days is quite week. But anyone who comes accross LSD in decent sized doses knows what I'm talking about. A large dose of LSD will completely shatter every thought and belief that you once held as true. It will open up a world that you never thought existed. Yet this world is so foreign because it does it is not detected by our usual five senses. It is a world detected by something completely different. It's like obtaining a sith sense. When taking enough acid, there is point at which you stop being simply "high" and you start becoming enlightened. For me, this enlightenment is something so alien that it cannot be put into words by any means, yet so "solid" and "real" that it's like crashing into a brick wall. For me, such an experience is very, very spiritual. It's almost as if my soul is destroyed and then reborn. I personally find LSD to be more spiritual than mushrooms mainly because I've had some VERY heavy acid trips but never any really heavy mushroom trips. I've never eaten more that 4 grams. I'm sure enough mushrooms can cause effects of a similar intensity. I just think it's a shame when the effects of acid is underestimated. LSD is truly an amazing drug. Proper dosage is key.

Mushrooms arent meant for anything. They're meant for whatever you care to use them for. Whether that is to get fucked up, to flip out, to have a spiritual experience or whatever, its all good.

hey gg
you seem pretty ignorant about the benefits of psychedelics, do some research, perhaps in the form of eating 5g of dried stro cub shrooms and then lock yourself in a dark room for the duration of the trip. if you think you know who you are now, wait until you are 6 inches up christ`s arse.
personally, i dont trip just for fun anymore, i also trip to learn, to grow, to know myself, but when i was a teenager i tripped to get wasted. these days i view those trips as training for what happens to me now.
so if people wanna trip to be fucked-up, thats great. for those that are ready it will enable them to focus their attention inwards, and as t.mckenna said, the deeper inside you go the bigger it gets.
