newbie wantin to learn

im just startin in all this and would like to know the best way to pf jars and mix ratio how to patch all that good stuff if someone cold direct me to a post or gve me some info on it all thanks

Welcome to the Shroomery! :smile:

I can't cold, but I could give you some direction.  First thing is you have to decide how you want to grow.  I think you are on the right track.  PF tek is fairly easy and definitely good place to start.  Then you'll have to decide how you want to fruit.  You can case or grow on cakes.  You'll have to do some research on both.

For right now, you'll need to read and then gather enough supplies to start the jars on colonizing.  I suggest you look under Mushroom Information->Growing Mushrooms->Basic Tek and read couple of PF Teks.

You'll be advised to make few changes along the way if you keep asking questions.  I'll start you off.  Use max fruiting formula.

1/4 cup BRF
1/2 cup Vermiculite
60cc water.

I also suggest you use coarse(7-9mm) vermiculite to make the mixture(it's called substrate).  You can grind up the coarse stuff and make some fine verm to use to cover the substrate in the jars.

I know.. I know..  a lot of this isn't sinking in fast.  That's why you gotta read a couple of Teks.(tek is just a set of procedures)

Let us know when you read them.  Then you can read about fruiting chamber and incubators.

60cc = 1/4 cup + 1/8tsp + 3 drops :wink:

Of course, our measuring cups aren't this accurate, so...
