microwave safe = ??C ?

when something (rubbermaid container in this case) says microwave safe, to what temperature does that mean. obviously above 100? C because that's where water boils, but how much higher?
i want to autoclave it at 121 degrees is this possible.
is there an accurate way to measure microwave temperature? i think probably not since what is really occuring is the molecules in the object you're heating are induced to move faster by the microwave, thereby generating heat. could i just throw a thermometer in there?

Not above, exactly 100?C, at sea level. Less if you reside above.
The boiling temperature is pressure dependant. Higher the pressure, higher the boiling temperature.
At 15 psi above normal, the boiling temperature is app. 121?C.
Don?t put a thermometer in the microwave! If it?s an alcohol based, it will probably explode, If it?s nmercury it will spark.(I think).
I wouldn?t autoclave a microwave dish, except you have one that you don?t need ;)

microwave safe means it will definetly be able to handle 100C and maybe more. a lot of microwave safe containers can also be put in ovens up to around 270C (oven safe). and like anno said dont put a themo in a micro
