It would be a big completely sterile room with some negative air pressure thingy so that when you opened the door the air would rush out instead of in. On one side there would be a table for inoculating substrate jars, and above that a temperature/humidity controlled space of some kind so I could keep my jars at an optimal temp. On the other side I would have these giant sink like indentations in a counter with cooling racks at the bottom. In those I would have a humidy thermometer, for shroom growing. Plexiglass would cover it all up. I'll tell you dude, if I didn't have parents I would be making that in my basement right now.
Man, if it weren't for that can we found, life around here would be really pathetic.

Well, i have an entire room in my basement. The room is 10X10.There is a 4X4 portion squared off for my Iquana.( he cannot get out)There is also a window i was considering using for some kind of air filtration system.My thoughts were to continue to use the rubbermaid containers that i have ( like for the DB kit etc...) and purchase some form of styrafoam and build two rooms within the room. The goal being so that i can create ambient air temps 10 degrees apart.(fruiting & colonizing)A couple of HEPA air filters. I'm not really sure what i'm doing yet but would love to here some of your great ideas. So please share them with me.

I have an iquana,2 vieled chamelions,1 mt. horn dragon and 2 fat tailed gecko's. Ive never given her a shroom. Have thought about it though.
Someone has to have some good ideas for this room .
Come on, help me out here.

I would either make a big shelf unit, or buy one of the closet storage ones from a store(the ones made out of metal bars), make sure its close to air tight and has a good distribution of light from all sides(plexiglass) and then hook up a humidifier underneath it. I would use a cool mist and leave it on 24/7, just control humidity by controlling how much it is pumping in and by making air holes on the bottom that you can seal up. That will also provide your air exchange, so all you would need to do would be to fill up the coolmists with water.

i like that idea. What prevents the humidity from being contaminated before it enters the chamber?

I have a ball python, central american red tail boa, bearded dragon, water dragon, have had an iguana, 12 foot burmese python, and just had to sell an 8 1/2 foot reticulated python, in fact I am holding the royal python right now as I type this. I have never thought about giving any of them shrooms, but now that I think of it...:). Neways, uhhh, what was I going to add, shit I forgot.

Well, since there is no budget, I would have all equipment and growing chamber specially made--if need be, of course. I'd have a wall of growing chambers that all of a set of controls so that temperature, humidity, lighting, etc. could all be controlled seperately for each different unit--allowing me to grow various mushrooms species and strains, including pans, trops, azures, stropharia, and whatever else I would eventually branch out into. The room would have a heavy duty air filter working at all times and the tanks would have automatic exhaust systems with timers. Most of the room would be comprised of stainless steel and set up for easy sterilization. I would have a sterilization machine like the ones they use in hospitals for all necessary sterilization procedures. I think I'd also have one large tank in which I could grow certain species in very large quanities. I'd need some sort of dehydration decive for quick drying the mushrooms and it would also be nice to have a system up for psilocybin extraction--which would also come in useful in a number of different ways. The last thing I can think of for the lab would be a really hot French maid, someone I could test the mushrooms out with, any other drugs I might have, etc., etc. Well, that's not all I would have, but that's all I can think of at the moment.
