When you say topsoil do you mean dirt or like 50-50?? if you do not see pins for about a week then you might want to do a little deep scratching to kinda help'm a long

Taking a board with a row of nails in it and raking it across your casing. Deep scratching goes all the way down to the substrate layer.

I can't really see the pic vary good but I'm sure your doing ok, as I am sure You got info from here. Casings will do real good in a terriaum. I am about to start using mushroom compost so I'll post those results as soon as I get them..

Is there any growth through the casing? I think I see a little in the pic. Pics of casings always seem to look darker than they do w/ the naked eye.

How long has it been since you cased it?
