my casing

I moved my casing to it?s new home today. Birdseed shot up with eq karo water. Cased in Coco.



Now I gotta cook up some more birdseed so I can fill up the other half of the fruiting box.

No drip shield. I'm using a kaz cool mist. Doesn't need a drip shield.

I dont think you should induce fruiting yet. You are better off letting the casing layer colonize a bit more. That casing will still fruit, but I dont think its ready for fruiting.

Thanks pleezr, since this is my first casing I appreciate your input. I was hoping to avoid overlay by fruiting as soon as the mycelium poked through, but you are not the only one who thinks I am too early. We will see. It is too late to go back into the incubator because I pc'd 5 more jars of birdseed tonight and there is no room in there for the casing any more.

To mile69: Kaz makes the humidifier, but it is sold by Vicks at places like Wal Mart and costs a little over $20.00. You can find older models at places like Goodwill, Salvation Army, and St Vincents DePauls thrift stores for $3.00 to $7.00.
