technical question regarding jar size

hey there, i was hoping a few of you experienced mycologists may be able to help me...

in australia 1/2 pint canning jars do not exist
most ppl therefore use plastic, which is fine coz they are tapered and come in 1/2 pint size.

recently tho this 1/2 pint size has not been available. the closest is a jar by the same company that is 1 and 1/2 pints!

would i experience difficulties sterilising pf cakes in this jar because of its size? it measures 3 1/2 inches diameter and 5 1/4 inches tall, standard cylindrical shape.

1st can you put the jars in a pressure cooker to sterilize them?? if you can then since the jars are a bit bigger add a few minutes to your sterilizing time.

i'm wondering if you've been using the same jars as me? sterilite?

they were the best!!
i wish i'd bought boxes of them. i can't find them anywhere now.
their website doesn't even mention they ever made them.

I had good results in using drinking glases with 260 ml content.
Like this

covered with aluminium foil.
