jar sizes

can i use pint or 1/4 pint jars for pf tek? on his website it says not to use pint but ive been to a number of stores and can only find sizes above and below a 1/2 pint. thanks in advance

yes just use less substrate and do not pack it in there nice and loose is good

the pint will take longer to colonize aka, more chance of contams taking hold, go with the 1/4 pints.

Your yields won't be squat. Pints will work fine (until you ready for quarts). If you're really worried about long colonization, only fill them half way.

Good call man. That could be a prob. Maybe fill them 3/4 of the way then. Or even all the way. My FOAF has used pints that fully colonized w/ no pinning. He was using a pressure cooker, though. Not sure reliable it is to sterilize a full pint without one. Maybe someone else has some thoughts on it..
