(UK)Liberty Caps or Not? ID PLEASE

Well finally decided to go and have a look for some myself today. Didnt fint many but i think these are the right ones?

Can anyone advise me if they are safe to eat?
Gonna dry them anyway and hopefully find some more if they are the correct ones





a. Habitat; Found in UK grassy cow and sheep field with a lot of standing water and marshy land around.
b. Characteristics of the gills; amber to dark brown
c. Measurements of cap and stem; stems on mature specimens about 10 cm caps about 3-4 cm across on mature ones.
d. Characteristics of the stem ; thin stems dark in colour
e. Characteristics of the cap; bell shaped
f. Spore print color; in progress
g. Color that the mushroom bruises; none that i can see
h. Scent of mushroom; earthy smell not sweet

Nope defenatly not libs, the stems are too dark, there is no nipple

The dark one is Panaeolus species.

not even close you are looking in the correct area going by what uve got good luck.. :thumbup:

well i wouldnt say not even close, no they arent libs but they do look similar. look for that pronounced nipple at the tip of the cap its a dead giveaway. I wish i lived where i could pick some but i will be moving to norhtern oregon soon so hopefully i will get a chance...

we havnt had much rain the last couple of days so things are gonna be quite dry the imposters tend to dry darker dont pick anything that grows in rings try squasshing em most badduns will splat in ure fingers remember young wet libs look quite different from mature dry ones..

Keep looking, i have found alot of them mushrooms growing in the same fields as libs
