Yo, do you have a good referance to growing salvia, I have a couple cuttings that could use some love.

One of them is yellowing, what can I do to stop that?

MAGnum, I dont really have any great growing referances, as most that I find have the same little bit of tired info like no direct lite and high humid. Yet, my tallest/mother plant I had on a windowcil where it constantly recieved maybie four-five hours of dirct sun a day and was never in a humidity tent of any kind ever. However for large amounts of Salvia info I would suggest http://sagewisdom.org
By the way, what sort of growing conditions are your cuttings in? Do you mist them daily? Did they have sufficient root growth before you put them in soil?

get those MOTHERFUCKING INCANDESCENTS outta there. they create more heat than light... god i hate seeing people using those to grow anything. it pisses me off.

nice work anyhow, with those floros. god floros are great.... cheap, efficient, and practical. good luck

jono1, you are mistaken, their is not a single incandescent bulb up there. I know better than that.

drgonz, the growth rate is a little hard to say at the moment. About five days ago they where all on a windowcil and had been dorment from lack of sun during these Fall times. Since I have had them under light I would say I have seen perhaps 1"-2" of growth.

Yes exactually. It was kinda funny walking to a checkout with four fixtures in a basket and two under my arm. Getting a couple looks from some people. No wate you got me all wrong these are not for what your thinking! :lol:

you might want to put some plastic or something down under them to keep the boards dry... nice plants though, I'm getting ready to bring mine in from outdoors

Salvia can learn to grow in practically any condition. Acclimitization.

Depending on where you live, won't your attic get too hot or cold now?

I reccommend bigger pots and pinching the tip of the stems that are longer than 6 Inches to promote branching. (lots of potential here.)

Where im at its currently getting colder so high temps are no worry at all. It's still far from freezing so although its not a good 70-80 degrees Im quite sure they will stay healthy. The growth will be significantly slower Im sure, but as winter draws near I havnt got any other options.

I have thought the same thing too for some time now and so just the other day the big one got an upgrade. This pot is roughly two times larger than its old one and will probably be its last transport. I had a hell of a time getting a four foot salvia out without breaking its weak stem.
