salvia strains???

hi everybody!
looking at my salvias i have noticed there are some plants slightly different than others - one kind has broader leaves (more ovate) and the other has longer leaves (like a stretched elipse). also the latter shows less purple in the base of it's stems than the others.
do i have different strains here? if yes, what shoud i have? are the fat leaved ones the classic wasson clones?

I noticed this with my plants.......also seems the narrowleaf one is more potent....as far as i can tell anyhow......

I have also observed such variations. The surprising thing is that these differences have developed from cones of a single plant. Therefore I would hypothesis that the variations are due to difference growing conditions. One plant maybe receiving more light??? (See Salvia Divinorum & Light intensity post).

all my salvias grow under the very same conditions, with the very same lighting!
i don't know for sure if the narrow leaf came from the very same clones the ovate came, as i've got my salvias from two friends: one sent me about eight cuttings (7 survived) and the other sent two cuttings, supposedly of different varieties but only one has survived the trip.the doubt remains...
it could well be an adaptation of the plant as i've noticed it only lately (my salvias arrived in april i think) or they can actually be clones from the single surviving cutting my bud sent me (as the narrow leafed is in minor quantity!). or even both things! as for their potency i can't tell yet, never tried my own... but i'm anxious to! =D

2 different plants or clones? its not that uncommon for one plant's phenotype to differ from another, even with the same environmental conditions. for example, an associate of mine grew three white rhino plants and one turned dark purple as opposed to the others lime green. get a pack of seeds of any kind and grow all of them and i guarantee you will have some substantial differences.
