is there anyone active in this forum who grows eddible mushrooms on the small commercial scale for local distribution?
i would very much like to know and ask them a few quick questions.

I grow shiitake on a small scale and can honestly say that I am doing well for myself for the past little while. what would you like to know.

just interested in how you went about setting up customers/distribution? did you target local healthfood stores/organic grocery types?
what is the whlesale price you charge, and in turn what is the vendors mark-up to retail price?
is your business profitable enough to be worth the trouble or is is simply a labor of love?
